30 Jan Foundation to host 12th annual Match Week
The McPherson County Community Foundation’s (MCCF) annual Match Week will take place March 3-7. A match of up to $110,000 is available for participating organizations, thanks to the Community ‘Dream’ Fund and a gift from the Gaeddert Family Fund. This will mark the 10th year of MCCF’s matching event, which helps nonprofits build their endowments. A total of $610,023 was raised during the event last year.
Matching funds are awarded proportionally to the total donations received during the week. Each organization is eligible to receive up to 20% of the match. For example, if an organization receives 20% of the total donations toward its endowment, it will receive 20% of the match to use for immediate needs.
“This event is an opportunity for organizations to build a permanent resource while securing grant funds for current needs or programs,” said Becky Goss, president and CEO of MCCF.
Donations to participating organizations can be made in person at the MCCF office, 1233 N. Main, during office hours from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
Online donations can be made through the MCCF website (McPhersonFoundation.org) and will be accepted until midnight March 7. Mailed donations must be postmarked by March 7:

To make a Qualified Charitable Distribution to an organization, donors must submit a donation receipt by March 7. Funds from IRA accounts do not have to be transferred immediately and will be accepted by the Foundation until Dec. 31. Donation receipts will be available on the Foundation’s Match Week page on its website (McPhersonFoundation.org).
Match Week, formerly known as Match Day, began in 2014 to help build the endowed funds of organizations operating in McPherson County. Since its inception, the event has raised more than $2.8 million for local organizations.
