19 Sep David Nutt Fund reaches $2,000,000 released | Sponsors Street Dance
The David J. Nutt Fund will be sponsoring the Street Dance in Lindsborg. The event will be taking place on Saturday, Sept. 21 beginning at 7:30 p.m. This sponsorship will cover the cost of the band King Midas and the Muflers.
2024 marks a landmark for the David J. Nutt Fund, administered by the McPherson County Community Foundation, as it’s granted over $2,000,000 in total gifts to organizations within Lindsborg. The committee that oversees the fund wanted to celebrate this milestone by giving back through the community’s celebration.
The first grant round came in December of 2018 giving $25,000 to 12 organizations. Over the years the fund has been able to grow its ability to impact the community. In 2019 the fund awarded $205,500 in grants. Last year the fund was able to award $433,890.
The David J. Nutt Fund, started from the estate of the former Lindsborg resident, was established with a $7,500,000 gift in 2017. Nutt acknowledged that the Lindsborg community raised him and left portions of his estate with multiple entities in the community. His fund at the Foundation is a permanent resource that community organizations can utilize to improve the lives of Lindsborg residents.
The David J. Nutt fund proves what can be accomplished through the power of endowments and generosity. Thanks to David Nutt, the community of Lindsborg is permanently changed for the better.
