14 Dec Community Foundation releases over $45,000 in Dec.
The McPherson County Community Foundation board has approved the following grant awards from the ‘Dream Fund’ and the David J. Nutt Fund for Lindsborg. A total of $46,065 was released from the two funds in Dec.
‘Dream Fund’ awards:
McPherson Community Theatre – McPherson Community Theatre Fall Show- Clue– $1,750
McPherson Community Theatre (MCT) we are asking for grant funds to help offset the cost of recorded music and sound effects and the fees of the production staff.
Moundridge Historical society – Farm implementation display lot upgrade– $1,600
We would propose to create a solid pad of crushed/compacted asphalt and slurry sealed surface and place placards describing each implement for heightened accessibility and lowered maintenance.
Community Thanksgiving – Community Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners– $1,000
We provide a free, hot meal traditional for the holidays for all members of our McPherson community with no regard to income, gender, race religion, or income.
Valley Hope Foundation – Valley Hope of Moundridge Gym Annex– $10,000
This grant will fund the transformation of the room into a functional gym.
USD #418 – McPherson High School Illustrator Certification– $1,575
This project would provide an opportunity for MHS graphic design students enrolled in graphic design project management to take an industry certification test at the end of the school year in Adobe Illustrator.
David J. Nutt Fund awards:
Scout Troop 120 – Bethany Lutheran Scout Troop camping supplies – $10,000
The purpose of this project will be to purchase new tents and camping equipment to be used by the members of Troop 120 and also Cub Scout Pack 3120.
MELC-Ministries – KICK Funding for supplies and food – $7,500
This free program involves volunteers from across the community as kids are chaperoned to BLC or MELC to play, learn a Bible story, learn a craft or skill, and enjoy a meal with their families in community
Lindsborg Community Library – Library Building Project: Nonfiction Mobile Shelving – $10,000
The Lindsborg Community Library is working to improve services to our community through an expansion and remodeling building project.
Bethany Home – Portable Stair Steps for Therapy and Restorative assessment – $655
This grant will allow Bethany Home to purchase a set of portable stairs for use in skilled and restorative therapy programs and functional nursing assessments.
MELC – Abuse Prevention & Facility Needs– $1,985
This application is for Messiah Lutheran Church as part of our ministry to the community at large. The funds from this grant would be used to make Messiah Lutheran Church a safer community space.
