22 Mar Special Presentation and Discussion of “S Word” Documentary
On Tuesday, April 5th at 6 p.m. there will be a special presentation of the film “The S Word”. The screening will be open to the community and will take place at the McPherson Community Building. “The S Word”, a documentary film by Lisa Klein, takes an intimate look at suicide attempt survivors who have turned their pain into actions and changed the way we talk about suicide….and saving lives. The film shines a light on a topic that has long been stigmatized, opens the conversation, and strives to reduce the silence and shame often associated with this 10th leading cause of death in the United States.
This is not a “sit and get information” night, but a time to process and discuss how anxiety/depression/suicide has affected personal lives. We will watch the documentary and then participants will be led in a circle conversation led by The Essdack Resilience Team.
The special screening for the community is also presented by McPherson Public Schools, the Suicide Prevention Resource Center , Essdack and ESSDACK McPherson County Learning Center
